About The Event
The weekend is to remember the soldiers from Honley who were in World War One. They came home in July 1919 after the end of the war and there was a village-wide celebration to welcome them home and remember those who had lost their lives. “All gave Some and Some Gave All” was written across one banner which will be recreated and the village will be decorated with bunting and poppies.
It is truly 100 years since the end of World War One for our soldiers as they returned in 1919.
There is a full weekend of events through Honley culminating in this joint concert between Yorkshire Traction Honley Band, Honley Male Voice Choir and Honley Ladies Choir which will be held in a large marquee in the park. Tickets for £5 each are available from Zebra and The Sweet Stop.
All profits from the event will be going to The Royal British Legion (Honley Branch)
Towards the end of the concert we are hoping everyone will bring along/buy a small England flag so if anyone has one please bring it along.
